Howdy fellow fashionistas! How’s it going?
We are officially back in Orlando. It was nice to visit family, no matter how grave the circumstances, but it was also really nice to have Andrew back home and be in our element and routine. I’m not normally a raving Orlando fan, but I guess I must love something about this town because I was happy to be back home. But we have lots of posts to catch up on so less gab is more.
Ahem, the OOTD:

Happy Andrew is home! Details: Dress-Anthro. Sweater- Guess. Belt- Vintage. Bag- Lucky. Shoes and Necklace- Target
Lucky’s Day 20 involved using the black sweater that I think I last wore way back in Day 8 and today I made a substitution that I’m kicking myself in the hiney for not thinking of sooner: Instead of the black sweater I had been suffering through wearing, I put on a short sleeved cardigan that I own. What a difference a sleeve length makes in my enjoyment of the outfit- I love it! Short little cardi, where have you been all my life?! I will definitely be repeating this outfit post challenge.
As for the dress, when I bought it I really didn’t see it as something that would be versatile because of its deep fallish-brown color but it has really been holding its own in this challenge (at least I think so!). I’ve also found the rainbow skinny belt to be also surprisingly complementary to each outfit that Lucky has thrown its way.
Double like!
As for Opes: Her outfit isn’t the most inventive or layered look of the challenge, but there is one aspect that she was quite thrilled about and that is her new (actually functioning) shoes! She spent a good portion of today asking me to put her various pairs of shoes on and off.
So. stinkin. adorable.
I am trying not to raise her to put too much value in silly things like clothes and looks and instead emphasize the value of her mind, but that little move melted the dress-up loving, girly-girl part of my heart. Call me a lipstick feminist, I can’t help myself, it was cute.
She has definitely been enjoying the greater freedom that wearing shoes provides and has been making exploration of our backyard a frequent occurrence.
Somebody is becoming independent- sniff!
Day 20 on a scale of 1-10: Ease of Wear: 9. Personal Excitement Factor: 9. Last minute short sleeved substitution: 10.
And what do you all think? Was the cardigan a good move? Do you agree that the dress and the belt have been surprising challenge stars or is it just me? What are your thoughts on feminism/gender identity and fashion? (why not, we can talk about more important issues if we want!)
For the future of women everywhere tell me your thoughts! ;D
