Lucky’s 30 Day Challenge. Day 22. Rained-out!

Domestic goddess?

This is day twenty-two of a series I’m doing that features a month of outfits. Read my intro here, find out about the Challenge here, and Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7, Day 8, Day 9, Day 10, Day 11, Day 12, Day 13, Day 14, Day 15, Day 16, Day 17, Day 18, Day 19, Day 20, and Day 21.

Good Day Everybody!

I was hoping I could avoid this, but after several days of rain, I ran out of time and was forced to take a few indoor photos. Goodbye natural light! But I dunno, maybe its a nice change?

Either way, welcome to my kitchen! At least the teal is cheery, and I keep the wine flowing for my guests. So take a chair and take a gander at Day 22′s OOTD:

Details: Dress- XXI. Shoes- Vince Camuto. Belt and Scarf- Vintage.

Gotta give the Greek genes their due.

The tea cup is just one of a string of silly props that I took pics with in attempt to go with the kitchen theme.

My best Claire Danes impression

Lucky’s Day 22 involved wearing a jacket (of course it did!), but by now I’m getting pretty good at ignoring their wardrobe items that are insane for a Florida summer. As another attempt to add blue, I decided against my other scarves for this vintage silk polka.

scarftastic

I’m really digging the pattern play going on between the tribal and the polka dots.I also think the peep-toe oxfords play up the retro factor of the scarf, which I’m also liking. This dress is great because it is comfortable, has pockets, and was cheap. Even though it is trendy I already feel like I’ve gotten my moneys worth just by wearing it in this challenge. Today I should have been a little more inventive with my hair, but since it was rainy I felt like it would just be a waste.

Calliope is getting to the age where she wants to be outside 24/7 but I tried to keep her occupied:

Our first of what will probably be many coloring mishaps. At least it is crayon!

Busted!

Apparently Calliope got a FB notification

Her Car Seat doubles as a play gym! On Opie: Top- "Vintage Target" bought at Once upon a Child. Baby Legs: Me made.

Look who has learned how to turn on the TV even though she is not allowed to watch it! (Diaper: Bumgenius)

As you can see we had a busy day indoors! Who needs actual toys? Not us! (Though seriously, she has plenty) ;D

Day 22 on a scale of 1-10: Ease of wear- 8 Personal excitement factor- 8.5. Calliope shenanigans: 10.

Lucky’s 30 Day Challenge. Day 21. Behind on Laundry

Keeping my composure, ha

This is day twenty-one of a series I’m doing that features a month of outfits. Read my intro here, find out about the Challenge here, and Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7, Day 8, Day 9, Day 10, Day 11, Day 12, Day 13, Day 14, Day 15, Day 16, Day 17, Day 18, Day 19, and Day 20.

Hey all! Don’t worry I’m still here!

I’ve been battling some sort of cold-type sickness, which you Mommy types know is a particular kind of challenge when the au pair is on vay-cay ;D …Andrew, who is a semi-recovering hypochondriac, and who is about ready to start work again teaching at the college, has been making a concerted effort not to look grossed out, and has been real sweet to me even though I know he is mildly terrified that he is going to catch it. Good times!

But the beat and the days of fashion roll on! Cue the OOTD:

The Deets: Jacket- Juicy Couture. Skirt- Thakoon for Target. Tank- Target. Shoes- Oh Deer! Necklaces??

I think 70s EJ and I could share sunglasses

We all know that in this heat, this is how I'm wearing today's outfit!

You might have noticed that my usual white tank is grey today. It hasn’t actually changed color, I just got behind on laundry (thus the reason behind my blog title today). One of the downsides of this challenge is that it requires frequent laundering, which around here doesn’t always happen- unless it is a cloth diaper (those get washed every 2ish days) ha ha ha…

My wonderful MIL keeps pointing out that my 30 Day wardrobe sorely lacks in the blue/green department, and she is totally right. If I had really thought about it ahead of time I would have subbed out some things to balance out the colors more. Especially since Navy is one of my favorite colors to wear outside of the Challenge. Not to be deterred, I decided to do some creative accessorizing in her honor:

Only photo of necklace hack that wasn't a gratuitious boob shot

About a year or so ago Anthropologie had a necklace that looked essentially identical to what I made above but for anthro $$$ and I made a mental note to replicate the idea in the future, and the future just happens to be now. I just clasped the necklaces together and Voila! Easy, free, AND blue and green!

Today’s outfit is ok, I’m mostly neutral about it. I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. It is fine, but doesn’t blow me away. I think I’m starting to get tired of all the pieces, which I think is to be expected with a Challenge like this.

Anyway, in other “meh” news, somehow I didn’t get a photo of Calliope in her outfit today! Fail!

As a sort of Hail Mary, I give you a brief video of Opie fingerpainting for the first time. For those of you that are interested, the diaper she is wearing is a Flip.  Also, please forgive the double greeting, I never know when my iPhone actually starts recording, and I forgot to edit <blush>

Day 21 on a scale of 1-10: Ease of wear- 9 Personal excitement factor- 5. Necklace ‘Hack’- 10.
